An internal audit by the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) recently found a discrepancy at Ethel Lund Medical Center pharmacy in Juneau.
The nature of the discrepancy was not released, but a SEARHC news release states it’s working with the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Juneau Police Department to resolve this issue and to implement guidance set forth by the DEA. SEARHC will also be working with a pharmacy consultant on the operations of all SEARHC pharmacy facilities as a result of this internal review.
“SEARHC management sees this as a positive move and one that is timely, but overdue,” the release states. “It is our long-standing goal to provide a safe and reliable place for our patients to receive health care. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
