The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium S’áxt’ Hít Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka has added Somerset M. “Somer” Dunn, Au.D., to its medical staff as an audiologist.
Dunn earned her audiology doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, and she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in psychology and speech, language and hearing sciences. Dunn holds a certificate of clinical competence in audiology credential from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
She comes to SEARHC from Colorado, where she worked in a six-physician otolaryngology (ear, nose, throat) practice that included four audiologists. Dunn performed comprehensive hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, vestibular testing (balance tests) and auditory evoked potential testing (a test for how the nerves from the ear to the brain work) on primarily adult patients.
