DEC issues recall for Seapak shrimp

Rich Products Corp. has issued a recall for Seapak Breaded Butterfly Shrimp because the shrimp coating may contain whey — a milk allergen not declared on the label. The Department of Environmental Conservation has verified this product has been distributed in Alaska.

The recall is limited to 22-ounce packages of Seapak Breaded Butterfly Shrimp – Ready to Fry containing the product code 10302, a “Best By” date of Jan. 25, 2013 and a production date of 7/25/2011. The UPC Code is 100 41322 10254 6.

There have been no reported allergic reactions. However, individuals concerned about a reaction should contact a health care provider.

Consumers should return this product to the retailer where it was purchased for a full refund.
