The Juneau School District is looking for community members interested in serving on its Budget Committee to oversee the Fiscal Year 2013 budget process. Interested individuals will be asked to put student success first, to look at the budget from a district wide perspective and be willing to work with a team. The committee will meet with the Board of Education six times, beginning on Nov. 16. The Budget Committee will learn about the district budget, hear proposals from the superintendent and gather testimony from the community. By the end of February, the Budget Committee will make a recommendation to the Board of Education. The Board then approves a final budget and submits it to the City and Borough of Juneau.
