JPD responds to threatening note

A threatening note in Douglas proved to be a hoax, but led to a response from the Juneau Police Department Monday afternoon, according to a release from the department.

The department’s Explosive Ordinance Team responded to the mailbox where the threat was posted in the 2500 block of Douglas Highway after JPD learned of the threat at about 3:40 p.m., the release states. The Douglas Highway was closed off and on for about three hours Monday, the release states.

JPD is investigating the source of the note, the release states.
