Correction needed

The name Halloween was determined politically inappropriate as it is considered a Pagan holiday. Please, to avoid offending the fragile, you need to use the phrase "Harvest."

Halloween is an excuse for people to

vandalize the property of others. I think the little kids are cute when they get dressed up and are all excited about trick-or-treating, but when the older ones use it as a "get out of jail free" card for causing havoc and vandalizing property, it's no longer fun. They know they can do whatever they want, make as much noise as they want, destroy mailboxes, throw paint balls at homes, overturn trash cans, break windows, egg homes, etc. and nothing will be done because they're just "having fun." The police are there to make sure nobody interferes with the rights of the vandals to have fun.

No Correction Needed

Spend your time teaching "the fragile" how to cope with the big, scary, real world. Stop trying to erase history. You are neither political, nor appropriate. Be thankful that the calendar has one day a year where people will mistakenly believe you are just dressed up as an a-hole.

Merry Christmas.

Agreed

Too many people are too easily offended by holidays and fun days. I remember when everyone in class would dress up, we'd bob for apples, carve pumpkins, eat junk food. Now you're not allowed to dress up at school in fear of offending someone or someone's parents more likely. TOUGH!

Calaskan, nice post! I'm not going to stop saying Merry Christmas, I won't be POLITICALLY CORRECT and say "Happy Holidays"! I believe in Christmas. Lighten up people, life is short!

@akdoc907-RUDE!

Being sarcastic

Sorry Calaskan, my post was meant to ridicule the fragile. Just about every event/holiday we have (had) is being erased by the politically correct. Now they're after Columbus day. Thanksgiving is taking a lot of flack because the Pilgrims were mean to Indians. Christmas is about done. Santa is seen as being evil and Chris Cringle was rumored to have been charged several times with domestic violence. There's no end.

Gotcha

It appears I may have misinterpreted your post. If your intent was sarcasm, I didn't catch it initially. Hopefully, I have not offended you. LOL.

@jimcollman: is anyone

@jimcollman: is anyone preventing you from celebrating holidays how you see fit? No? Then it seems to me you're manufacturing a controversy.
