JPD investigates alleged stabbing report

Police and fire crews responded to a report of a stabbing Tuesday afternoon at Coho Park Apartments on Amalga Street, officials said.

A female patient with knife wounds was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital around 3:16 p.m., according to the Capital City Fire and Rescue daily incident report.

CCFR Chief Richard Etheridge confirmed the alleged incident occurred at Coho Park Apartments, which is a complex off Mendenhall Loop Drive.

Juneau Police Department Capt. Ed Mercer said there was an active investigation looking into the report, but no verified information could yet be made available to the public. He said a press release would be issued at a later time, which would either confirm or deny the stabbing report.
