JUNEAU — The Juneau Convention and Visitor's Bureau says it will close a visitor's center to save money.
The center slated for closing is housed at Centennial Hall.
Bureau CEO Lorene Palmer says bureau board members conducted a thorough review of their long-term financial picture at a board retreat and considered what visitor services could continue.
KINY says four visitor's centers along the waterfront, at the airport and at the ferry terminal will remain.
Palmer says the decision to close the Centennial Hall visitor's center at the end of October will mean money spent on leasing the space will be redirected to marketing.
