Egan Drive was reduced to one lane for about 20 minutes Friday morning after two vehicles crashed at the Fred Meyer intersection. One of the drivers was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The Juneau Police Department received a report of the accident just before 8 a.m. An investigation found Juneau resident Delphine Fano-Ia, 47, was driving inbound on Egan, and when she tried to make a left hand turn across the outbound lanes to the Fred Meyer access, her 1997 Ford Explorer was struck by a 2006 Subaru Forester, according to a JPD press release.
The Forester was driven by Juneau resident Vanessa Stevenson, 33.
Both vehicles were totaled, and Stevenson was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Fano-Ia was cited for failing to yield while turning left, according to the statement.
