At 6 p.m. on Saturday in the Thunder Mountain High School Commons, the TMHS Model U.N. and National Honor Society are hosting the 2011 OXFAM Hunger Banquet. Dinner will be served, followed by a presentation from a former PeaceCorps volunteer from rural China.
Admission is two cans of food or $5 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the Southeast Alaska Food Bank. For more information contact Kristin Garot, TMHS Model United Nations club advisor, at kristin_garot@jsd.k12.ak.us.

I can see coming out of this is the potential of local people that are hungry getting food from the donations that are going to the Southeast Alaska Food Bank. Lets take care of our own first!

Why does the PeaceCorp go to China? I can think of about a thousand more nations needing help than China.
