NWS issues winter weather advisory for Monday

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Juneau area Sunday night.

The advisory, which begins at 3 a.m. Monday and expires at 3 p.m. that day, states 4 to 6 inches of snow is expected to fall on Juneau during that time. Additionally, wind gusts of up to 45 mph were expected Sunday night.

The advisory stated travel could become hazardous and delays at the airport could be expected. However, Alaska Airlines reported there were no cancellations or delays as of 8:45 p.m. Sunday night.

A further update was expected from the NWS by 4 a.m. Monday.
