3 to 5 inches more snow expected from current storm

A weather system that started dumping snow last night is the storm that keeps on giving. A National Weather Service storm warning expired at 1 p.m., but an advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. and forecasters urge travelers to be ready for low visibility at times.

The National Weather Service cautions Juneau residents to be ready for periods of heavy snow. Four to 5 inches had already fallen when the meteorologists issued an emergency alert broadcast at 1:04 a.m.

Expect visibility to decrease to about half a mile at times as heavy snow bands move through the area. Check the National Weather Service website at http://pajk.arh.noaa.gov/Misc/text.php?zone=025 for updates.
