The Alaska Bureau of Investigation’s Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs, with the assistance of the Juneau Police Department, made three drug-related arrests in Juneau on Thursday, two of which were at a residence located on the same street as the JPD headquarters.
According to an Alaska Bureau of Investigation statement, one Juneau woman, Nicole Jean Clayton, 19, was suspected of selling methamphetamine and was arrested on felony charges at about 4:55 p.m. Thursday following a two-month long SEACAD and JPD investigation. She was charged with three counts of third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance at her arrest at a residence in the 6200 block of Alaway Avenue in the valley, a stretch of road less than a mile long that also houses JPD headquarters.
Also arrested at the residence was Danielle Cashen, 46, of Juneau, for fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and for violating conditions of release from a previous JPD Drug Enforcement Unit investigation involving charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second, third and fourth degrees, according to the statement.
Both were taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center without bail and were scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
Agents from the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Services assisted executing the search warrant on Thursday.
SEACAD, with JPD’s assistance, had conducted multiple controlled buys of methamphetamine from Clayton over the span of the past two months, the statement read. The charges levied against Clayton are all class ‘B’ felonies that carry a maximum prison sentence of 10 years and a maximum fine of $100,000. Cashen could face a maximum prison sentence of five years and a maximum fine of $50,000 for the charge of fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, a class ‘C’ felony.
About 20 minutes before apprehending Clayton and Cashen, SEACAD, JPD and Investigative Services arrested Christopher Waterhouse, 25, in the downtown Juneau area for two counts of second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and one charge of second-degree attempted misconduct involving a controlled substance. The charges stemmed from SEACAD conducting controlled buys of heroin from Waterhouse, a statement said. He was taken to LCCC and also scheduled for arraignment on Friday.
Second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance is a class ‘A’ felony with a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and maximum fine of $250,000.

Ok, I'll try not to lecture or tell you what you already know. My family knows one of those arrested. I personally had talks with him to tell him that life is short, he can turn his life around with all the friends and family support that he has. This young man was encouraged, even begged to get off drugs. I observed over the years that he chose to do drugs yet he had several opportunities to change his life around. Several of his friends went on to become successful adults and even have wonderful families of their own. Some did not, they continued to do drugs, drink alcohol and behave like they did when they were teenagers. The insanity of it all is they think they can still party like they did when they were real teenagers. Anyway, this young man was doing just that, calling up buddies to drink and drug with him, and refusing to grow up and become a responsible adult. I knew he would eventually get in trouble with the law with his drug-use and drinking. While I really feel for this young man, he "made his bed and now has to sleep in it" so-to-speak. Hopefully he can realize that prison is not the place to be, that his life is precious and meaningful, and that he can change his life around. I also hope he realizes that friends care and love him very much, even worry about him.
What A Nice Grandma
So sorry for this young man's troubles. Hopefully he'll get the much needed help he needs, or at least enough time off these horrible drugs to get himself squared away. These are not the same drugs our kids grew-up around. These are much, much worse! I've know him from a distance and he's always been very, very polite. He's obviously had family and friends who love him a great deal and tried to give him a strong start in life. I'm believing he'll figure this out and get his life on track. In the meantime, grandma, please know you're thought of and wished some peace. Take care!
That was redonkulous
That was redonkulous
why is the coast guard
why is the coast guard investigative service helping to execute a local PD serch warrant?
Perhaps
With the amount of drugs which have flooded into our community, it seems to make sense some are being brought in on private boats. Could this be the reason for the CG's involvement?
If she was just busted in
If she was just busted in August, why the heck was she given the opportunity to do it again??
*Shaking head in disappointment of our system*
Aware
Its good to see all these comments on this epidemic of meth to death. Some of you that have commented are aware of this thing, and most should know that meth is a fuel for war waiting to happen esp. in small ass towns. This drug was made for WAR, nazis in ww2 were on them. Its a disgrace of what is going to happen to this community. People on meth will start turning to evil doings making people turn on each other, and nightmare becomes reality. You guys should understand the way they are, they will seem very confident like and when you turn away they will have a devil look and intentions. Most are not aware because people on this drug are moving and thinking 10x faster then normal. Be careful with people who have quick n jerky gesture because they can steal or poison you, keep your distance and def. let others know, don't matter if they're a stranger warn them. They WILL turn against anyone, think about your daughter, sister, husband, everyone. The more these there are locked up the better. Do your part JUNEAU and let others know before it happens to YOU!! Watch your neighbors, watch your houses, cars, and esp. yourself.
Beware
Also being on meth wont make your rich, its a set up for a failure even ones that are making millions they end up dying! That is the truth where meth is in every part of the world. People will die. Die, die, die. This is not a threat for you readers, do not be paranoid just be aware of what METH does to YOU! Evil.
Both the Allies and the Axis
Both the Allies and the Axis used amphetamines and methamphetamines in World War II for the stimulant effects.
While meth is certainly really bad for you, your posts come off like a scene from "Reefer Madness."
So, you're trying to tell us
So, you're trying to tell us that meth is....bad???? Oh god! My belief system has been shaken.
Of course it's bad. I agree with what you said...but the way you said it sounds like you're the one who's all twacked out.
Excuse me "condesending"
Chris has been a dear friend of mine for many years, we played little league together. Chris is one of the nicest and dearest people I have ever known. I battled my own addiction with him but I had to leave Juneau to succeed. Addiction is a disease simple and plain. Who are you to pass judgment on someone you have never met? Juneau has a horrible drug problem and nobody does anything about it, the truth is that the PD profits from people like Chris. Instead of battling the problem like they should and focus on the people bringing the drugs into town they bust small time people trying to make a dollar. I am not saying that what he did was alright but the the so called law enforcers should focus on bigger and better things. The "war on drugs" is an absolute joke and costs this country billions of dollars. This "piece of trash" you speak of puts fish in your super market. So next time you buy salmon from the store just know that a "piece of trash" caught that fish for you. He is a member of your community just like you and for you to say otherwise is asinine. Your comments are extremely rude! It hurts me to have read this article. I hope that this opens his eyes, Chris has great potential to do great things. And for you to call him trash just shows what kind of person you are. Everyone has problems and isn't perfect and no matter what you think addiction is a disease. I don't see you making rude comments about cancer patients, he needs help and I hope he accepts the new opportunities that will follow this and get the help that will be offered. He has tons of friends and family that will support him through all of this. Unlike the lonely person reading articles and talking down on people they don't know because they get kicks off of it.

Whatevs!
Too many times I see these same people that have gotten in trouble for large drug busts out of jail all too quickly. Yes, I know you feel you've paid your time, but it's really weird to me that you didn't get in bigger trouble. Oh, well.

Here's one that ranks with the losers.
My last comment was flagged and probably deleted.
I didnt mean for it to be offensive. just wanted my point heard. ill try and tone it down so you all dont get offended.
Shame on you all. Talking about these people like you are better then them because they made a mistake and its in the news and on the internet. I know drugs are taking a toll on our community. But we all have our own demons we must battle everyday. I bet you all drink. and take pills perscribed by your doctor. its all the same. its all killing us. Dewardly. I Enoyed reading everything you wrote. Chris is a great guy where it counts. and this town is a terrible drug in itself. its hard to get away. But i do believe you all should be ashamed of yourselves, acting like highschool kids with a keyboard. Anyone passing judgement on anyone else as a human being for making a mistake or 2 is no better then the drug dealers and users. You should be talking about something constructive like starting a new drug help hotline or something. if this happened to you and you called. I'd love to help you. Just to show you what a GOOD Juneauite really is.
PLEASE DONT FLAG AS OFFENSIVE BECAUSE YOU KNOW IM RIGHT. i think my opinion has the right to be "heard" just like everyone elses on here.
Thank you Dewardly and rc88
Chris is my cousin. I've known him his whole life. We grew up together and he is a remarkable person, he has awesome parents and a super supportive family. He is the sweetest guy with the best heart. He has a problem and I hope he gets the help he needs. I do not think that what he's done is ok, I personally have never done drugs and I think they are disgusting. But that doesn't mean that I don't understand that addiction is a disease. Christopher got caught up in his disease and made the wrong choices. He deserves some punishment, but above all else, he deserves help and treatment. The comments on this website are abhorrent, you should be ashamed of yourselves for such awful words. I love my cousin, as does the rest of our family. Please try to remember that we are all human. Humans make mistakes and I am willing to bet every single one of you has made a mistake or two. If you say otherwise, you're just kidding yourself.
