OMG! They had tobacco?!?!?! Lock em up and throw away the key! I can see why this was a hot news story! In other news, the governor got up this morning and shaved, and took a shower. More to come as this story develops...

Slow news day...

OMG!

kpawsuh - just be happy your morning newspaper doesn't have to report on the five or six new gang shootings that happened overnight, the missing teens later found dead, or the police shootouts with bank robbers. I miss living in Juneau!

Really? This is what my next pay check taxes are going to? MY GOD! Maybe they didnt feel that their "free room and board" was adequate so they needed an excuse to get into a "higher" level of security? Wow......PATHETIC...is the only word that comes to mind.

Lawsuit?

I could see inmates suing DOC for inhalation of second hand smoke.

Your employer told you he was debiting your paycheck for State 'taxes'? Ouch. You do know that there is no State income tax, right?

Maybe it's the fact that

Maybe it's the fact that Pearl Harbor happened 70 years ago, we won that war after doing some bad things ourselves, and now Japan is no longer a military threat?

Give as a break...to funny.

Give as a break...to funny. We had to worry about tobacco use in prison or jail. Stupid rule anyway...Yes but, hit it in the news...Pearl Harbor did not. Get the hell out of Alaska.

@Aankadaxtseen

Our article on the 70th anniversary was teased on the top of the front page and placed inside the paper.

@ Moses

I hope to see you continue to report on tobacco use and possession in the prison system. We really need to be reminded of the real cost of some of the boobery that our legislators pass into law.
