Heavy, wet snow expected Thursday

Weather advisory until 3 p.m. Thursday

Juneau is expected to get 4 to 6 inches of snow Thursday, according to a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

In addition to snow, Juneau will also see freezing drizzle that morning, the release states. The advisory states the drizzle will begin Thursday morning. The advisory states the snow will be heavy and wet, making removal more difficult.

The advisory expires at 3 p.m. Thursday. An advisory means the weather event “is already occurring or imminent,” according to the release.

The advisory is scheduled to be updated by midnight Wednesday, but may be updated sooner if need be. For more information, visit weather.gov.
