SEARHC Help Line available for holidays, times of stress

Posted: December 20, 2011 - 1:06am

During the sometimes stressful holiday season, the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium Behavioral Health/Suicide Prevention program and the “1 is 2 Many” regional suicide prevention task force for Southeast Alaska is available for those who are stressed out and in need of care.

The holidays, tight budgets, dark nights and cold weather contribute to high levels of stress this time of year. The SEARHC Help Line (877-294-0074) is a 24-hour-a day, seven-day-a-week, toll-free resource, and licensed, professional counselors answer the calls.

“You don’t have to wait until you absolutely stressed out or feel like you have no place else to turn,” SEARHC Behavioral Health/Suicide Prevention Program Manager Wilbur Brown Jr. stated in a release. “You can call the SEARHC Help Line at any time. It is open to all residents of Southeast Alaska.”

The SEARHC Help Line is offered as a free resource to complement the care provided at SEARHC Behavioral Health clinics.
