Add commentI liked Ike.
Ran his Presidential campaign out of my fifth grade homeroom at Wythe Elementary in Virginia. He won in my school and in Virginia, first Republican since the war between the states (as it was called down there). Actually met him at the moment he was told a U-2 plane had been shot down and heard him tell the press that it was a lie. At least he did right by Alaska.
