JPD seeks possible fraud victims

Suspicion a Juneau man possessed drugs lead to a search warrant that uncovered a second man with false identification, and the Juneau Police Department is now looking for merchants who may have been defrauded by those fake ID cards.

 

JPD officers, along with personnel from Southeast Alaska Chiefs Against Drugs, served a search warrant on a residence in the 100 block of Front Street. In the residence, JPD contacted Sung Hun Bag, 40, who had fake identification cards. Officers arrested Hun for second-degree forgery, a class ‘C’ felony. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

JPD is now looking for merchants who might have been defrauded by someone presenting fake IDs. Anyone who might have been defrauded by the use of checks or credit cards issued to the following names is asked to contact JPD:

The warrant was issued after JPD and SEACAD contacted Angelo Bruce Kim, 51, because the agencies had information Kim might be in possession of drugs. Law enforcement did in fact find 6.2 grams of methamphetamine in Kim’s possession and arrested him for fourth degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, a class ‘C’ felony. The residence subsequently searched was Kim’s.
