AMHS: LeConte soon to be sidelined

The Alaska Marine Highway System cancelled the ferry LeConte’s sailing to Haines on Jan. 24.

 

The LeConte was scheduled to depart Juneau for Haines at 9 a.m. on Jan. 24 with a return trip the same day at 7 p.m.

The next scheduled sailing to Haines departs Jan. 25 at 7 a.m. on the LeConte with a stop in Skagway before returning to Juneau at 9 p.m.

The LeConte’s Jan. 24 trip was canceled due to needed equipment maintenance and testing on the 38-year-old vessel.

Marine Highway staff plan to contact affected passengers, according to an AMHS press release.
