Taku to return to service, but some stops scrubbed

The ferry Taku is scheduled to return to service Tuesday after mechanical issues prevented it from sailing Sunday, according to release from the Alaska Marine Highway System.

The Taku is set to leave Juneau at 2 p.m. Tuesday, bound for Petersburg. Because of the mechanical problems that sidelined the Taku, a previously scheduled stop in Prince Rupert was not made on Monday. Additionally, the Taku will not stop in Sitka on Wednesday as planned. The ferry Matanuska will add a 4 p.m. Tuesday stop in Kake to accommodate passengers there, the release states.
