The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Juneau area beginning at 6 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 24..
Forecasters are predicting snowfall totals to reach eight inches overnight with an additional three to four inches falling Wednesday morning.The NWS stated snowfall rates could exceed one inch per hour at times. Storm totals could reach one foot in areas.
According to a release, the winter storm warning will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25. The NWS stated they will update this warning by 6 p.m. tonight, or earlier if conditions warrant.

Hope the crews get out and put the solution on Egan before this storm hits. Its glare ice and that much snow on top of it with warmer weather behind the storm, its gonna get UGLY! Stay safe everyone!

Need Gravel
It was glare ice driving home last night. I expected there would be some gravel spread down at the time when most Juneauites are on the road. Hopefully, that happens this time.
