Stillman named interim CFO of Bartlett Regional Hospital

Bartlett Regional Hospital’s Board of Directors announced that Dennis Stillman will begin as interim chief financial officer on Feb. 1.

The interim appointment is expected to last six months and will not exceed 12 months, hospital spokesman Jim Strader said last night in a prepared release. The hospital’s board will hire an executive search firm “to assist in conducting an extensive executive search for Bartlett’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) positions,” the release stated.

Stillman has extensive experience in healthcare financial management, having served as interim CFO service at Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake, Wash.; The Polyclinic in Seattle and Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash. Stillman lectured at the University of Washington and the University of Colorado-Denver. He was Associate Administrator and CFO at the University of Washington Medical Center and Vice President and CFO at Pacific Medical Center.

He holds a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Washington and is a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Bartlett will employ its Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer directly under the terms of the hospital’s new management services agreement with Quorum Health Services.

The hospital’s Board of Directors “adopted this management reporting structure to align these key senior management positions under the direct oversight of the board. Additional improvements in hospital procurement procedures in the new contract will assure tighter compliance with City and Borough of Juneau methodology and practices,” the release said.
