Free programs in honor of Elizabeth Peratrovich

A series of free programs open to the public will be held today in honor of Elizabeth Peratrovich Day,

 

The Alaska Native Sisterhood, the Alaska Native Brotherhood Glacier Valley Camp 70, the Alaska Native Sisterhood Juneau Camp 2 and the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska are hosting the program.

A graveside memorial service is scheduled to be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery. A commemorative ceremony will then be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall, 320 W. Willoughby Ave.

The commemorative ceremony will feature a keynote address by carolyn Brown of the League of Women Voters of Juneau and a dance performance by Wooch ji.een. It will be emceed by Tlingit Haida Central Council President Edward Thomas.

Soup and dessert will be provided.
