The State Board of Education & Early Development will hold a regularly scheduled meeting at 8 a.m. today and 8:30 a.m. on Friday. The meeting will be held in the state boardroom on the ground floor of 801 West 10th Street in Juneau. The public is invited to attend.

The board will take public comment on agenda and non-agenda items today. The public may offer comments and testimony beginning at 8:10 a.m. at the meeting site or through statewide Legislative Information Offices. For more information about LIOs, call 465-4648.
The regulations that may go out for public comment are related to updating Praxis II exams for teachers; setting timelines for district evaluations of students who may be eligible for special education and related services; setting WorkKeys scores for student eligibility for the Alaska Performance Scholarship; and adopting the Moore v. State settlement agreement into regulation by reference.
The regulations that may be adopted update regulations related to approving educator-preparation programs; amend minimal standards for school buses to meet new national specifications; and set the exit score for a new assessment of English language learners.
