JPD investigates Sunday morning robbery

The Juneau Police Department is trying to identify a suspect in a robbery reported Sunday morning, according to a release from the department.

JPD learned of the robbery at about 5 a.m. Sunday, the release states.

The victim told police a man walked into a business in the 400 block of Willoughby Avenue and demanded money. After the victim refused, the robber lifted his shirt and grabbed what appeared to the victim to be a knife. At that point, the victim gave the robber more than $500 in cash. The robber then left the scene on foot, and may later have used a dark-colored SUV to flee, the release states.

The victim said the robber stood 5-feet, 6 or 7 inches tall and was a white man in his late 20s or early 30s. The robber also had facial hair, the release states.
