Auke Bay Elementary Principal Lori Hoover laughs as Kim Jensen of Rejuvenation Salon & Spa shaves her hair off during a school assembly on Friday. Hoover, along with kindenten teacher Joey Roters and third-grader Dawson Hickok, gave up their hair to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research. The school raised about $3500. The larger city-wide event took place on Saturday with over 80 people signed up for a haircut at T.K. Maguire's. The Juneau event is sponsored by local firefighters.
