Assault

• At 11:17 p.m. Tuesday, a 33-year-old woman reported her 10-year-old daughter was assaulted in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway. Investigation continues.

Domestic violence

• At 12:44 p.m. Tuesday, a domestic violence protective order was served on a 27-year-old man in the Juneau area.

Drug activity

• At 3:51 p.m. Tuesday, Juneau Police Department conducted a confidential investigation into a report of drug activity in the Juneau area.

Fire and medical

• At 12:07 a.m. Tuesday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Glacier Highway, and she was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 1:19 a.m. Tuesday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Gastineau Avenue, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 7:22 a.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a man on Willoughby Avenue, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 9:44 a.m. Tuesday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Teal Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 9:54 a.m. Tuesday, critical advanced life support care was given to a woman on Egan Drive, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 2:14 p.m. Tuesday, Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to a fire alarm on Willoughby Avenue, and investigation found alarm was activated due to malfunction.

• At 2:23 p.m. Tuesday, CCFR assisted taking a woman from BRH to a private residence.

• At 7:48 p.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Glacier Highway, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a man on Whittier Street, and he was taken to BRH.

Minor consuming

• At 8:47 p.m. Tuesday, Noah Antone Betts George, 20, was cited as a minor consuming in the 1500 block of Third Street.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 2:36 p.m. Tuesday, a 67-year-old man reported his vehicle was involved in an unoccupied hit and run in the 400 block of Kennedy Street. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

• At 12:32 p.m. Tuesday, a 39-year-old man reported his vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle sometime in the past week in the Juneau area.

Theft

• At 1:17 p.m. Tuesday, a 35-year-old woman reported her wallet and $200 cash was stolen in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, a 29-year-old woman reported a Seiko watch, valued at an estimated $250, was stolen from her residence in the 3200 block of Foster Avenue.

• At 5:44 a.m. Wednesday, a 31-year-old woman reported a vehicle was stolen in the 3300 block of Park Place. Investigation continues.

• At 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, Troy Henry Scroggins, 23, was cited and released for larceny in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

Trespassing

• At 9:32 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to a report of trespassing in the 1600 block of Renninger Street and contacted two boys, ages 16 and 17.

• At 10:38 p.m. Tuesday, JPD investigated a report of criminal trespass in the 400 block of Third Street. JPD was unable to locate.

• At 11:07 p.m. Tuesday, JPD investigated a report of criminal trespass in the 1800 block of Shell Simmons Drive.

This Day in Juneau History: Jan. 19, 1987

On Jan. 19, 1987, with revenues half of what they were the year before and an estimated budget deficit ranging from $700-$900 million, the 15th Alaska Legislature began working on the state’s enormous budget deficit. Everyone was present for the Legislature’s first day except for Sen. Frank Ferguson, D-Kotzebue, who resigned shortly after his election because of health problems. Taking his place was Kotzebue businessman and Native leader Willie Hensley, whom Gov. Steve Cowper appointed for the position until the 1988 elections.
