A Juneau Police Department patrol vehicle sustained about $2,000 in damage after it struck a concrete post early Wednesday morning, police say.
Lt. David Campbell said an officer was positioned in his vehicle to run speed enforcement checks from the Mendenhall Wetlands State Game Refuge scenic view turnoff on Egan Drive near Mile 6. Campbell said the officer then repositioned himself to get a better angle and ended up striking a concrete post at a slow speed.
The accident occurred at about 6 a.m.
