The Kenny’s Wok Restaurant manager and chef charged with possessing methamphetamine has a $5,000 warrant out for his arrest after missing court hearings.
Defense attorney Julie Willoughby said Thursday her client, Angelo Bruce Kim, 51, failed to appear that day for a trial call. Willoughby requested the judge vacate his jury trial, which was scheduled to begin next week on April 16.
Assistant District Attorney Angie Kemp said a warrant was issued for Kim’s arrest on Feb. 14 when he missed an omnibus hearing.
Kim was arrested and charged in January with fourth-degree drug misconduct for knowingly possessing methamphetamine. That’s a class ‘C’ felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
His bail was originally set at $2,500.
