Crime of the week: theft

The Juneau Police Department Crime of the Week is in reference to a theft at Western Auto.

JPD Sgt. Paul Hatch said in a release that an employee from Western Auto called JPD around 12:30 p.m. on April 6 to report a man just left the store after taking a blue Carhartt jacket and a Sylvania DVD player without paying for them.

The suspect got into an older white car that was smoking heavily from the tail pipe and left the area, the release states.

The witness was unable to provide a description of the suspect except that he was male.
