JUNEAU — Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Kevin Sweeney is the second of three featured speakers in The Juneau Glacier Valley Rotary 20th Anniversary of the Pillars of America Speaker Series. Sweeney has successfully battled the physical loss of both engines on the left wing of his plane when they were ripped off in mid-air in the night during a combat mission in Desert Storm. Sweeney will share his story illustrating how a person can overcome any obstacle facing him or her.
Sweeney and his team were awarded the United States Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross. His team’s extraordinary experience has been a featured segment on the A&E channel titled Wings Over the Gulf. The experience is also the subject of Air Force training tapes in use today.
Sweeney is the author of two books: “Pressure Cooker Confidence, How to Lead When the Heat Is On” and “Conversations with the Colonel, Lessons in Life, Leadership, and Wisdom”.
Sweeney will be speaking on May 2 at Centennial Hall. For more information contact Ellen Walker at 723-9908 or email@example.com.
