Crime of the week: Stolen weapons, stereo component from truck

The Juneau Police Department crime of the week for May 4 is in reference to a vehicle rifling and theft.

Sgt. Paul Hatch said in a release that a citizen called JPD at about 2:15 p.m. April 7 to report someone had stolen an 18-inch long machete, a can of bear spray and an Alpine stereo face plate from his Toyota truck.

The truck was parked in a public parking lot in the 9400 block of Glacier Highway for three days.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is encouraged to log onto the Juneau Crime Line at and report the tip.

Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity and can be rewarded.
