Vehicle riflings, theft is JPD Crime of the Week

The Juneau Police Department Crime of the Week for May 18 is in reference to vehicle riflings and thefts.

 

Sgt. Paul Hatch said in a release JPD received several reports of items stolen from parked vehicles in the area of Sunshine Cove in the 35000 block of Glacier Highway over the weekend on April 28.

The stolen items include purses, wallets, DVD movies, iPods, cell phones, a digital camera and a maroon Dell laptop.

Police said the vehicles were unlocked. One witness reported seeing a blue Sport Utility Vehicle in the area and believed it may have been involved in the thefts, according to the release.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is encouraged to log onto the Juneau Crime Line at juneaucrimeline.com and report the tip. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity and can be rewarded.
