Car theft picked as JPD crime of the Week

The Juneau Police Department Crime of the Week for May 25 is in reference to a vehicle theft.

Sgt. Paul Hatch said in a release that a citizen called JPD on April 25 at about 7:35 a.m. to report their maroon Subaru station wagon stolen from a public parking lot in the 10000 block of Glacier Highway.

The vehicle was eventually located and recovered in the parking lot of the Airport Mini Mall. It had three of the four seat belts cut out of it, the release states.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is encouraged to log onto the Juneau Crime Line at juneaucrimeline.com and report the tip. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity and can be rewarded.

Crime Line is a nonprofit organization composed of a cross-section of the community and is designed to aid police investigations.
