Police confirmed Friday that a boat operator presumed to be missing at sea was a victim of suicide.
Juneau Police Department spokeswoman Cindee Brown-Mills said Glen Charles “Chuck” Craig had left a suicide note.
The Coast Guard and local officials launched a search for Craig last Thursday after his skiff was found unmanned with the engine running in Favorite Channel near the Shrine of St. Therese.
Police said no foul play was suspected.
Craig was an associate professor of diesel technology at the University of Alaska Southeast for the past 17 years. He was 65.
