JUNEAU EMPIRE STAFF REPORT
The Emergency Vehicle Access Road will close to vehicle and pedestrian traffic Monday for work related to Runway Safety Area improvements, according to a release from Juneau International Airport.
The road is commonly called the Airport Dike Trail.
The road will be closed until June 25.

Emergency Vehicle Access Road/Airport Dike Trail
What's in a name? In this case, the federal government is concerned about safety on and around airports. They're perfectly happy to spend money to improve emergency vehicle access to all parts of an airport. If I were the FAA person supervising the doling out federal money to airports, I'd be way more likely to favor something denoted "Emergency Vehicle Access Road" rather than "Airport Dike Trail."
