Heavy run off from snow melt has pushed the Nugget Falls into an even bigger flow of water near the Mendenhall Glacier. Park officials monitored water levels over the recent hot weekend, as well as a bulge in the ice at Suicide Basin atop the glacier. Last summer the water from that basin caused flooding when it suddenly rushed into the lake below.
