The GCLL will be hosting the 2012 Majors Division and Junior Division softball state championships. The GCLL Majors team (11-12 year olds) will play the Anchorage District Champion (to be determined after Anchorage’s tournament) in a best 3-of-5 series beginning July 13-18. The GCLL Junior’s team (13-14) awaits an Anchorage District Champion for play in a best 3-of-5 series beginning July 19-24. Both little league state tournaments are at Melvin Park. The winners advance to the LL Western Regional Tournament; the Majors to San Bernardino, CA and the Juniors to Tucson, AZ.
The GCLL will also be hosting the Minors AAA baseball tournament featuring Sitka, Ketchikan, Prince Of Wales, Haines and two Juneau all-tourney selection teams. The Minors tournament begins July 6-9. The winner does not advance to another venue.
