Fire and medical

• At 1:55 a.m. Monday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Glacier Highway, and she was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 7:43 a.m. Monday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on 12th Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 11:17 a.m. Monday, advanced life support care was given to a man on M/V Amsterdam, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 12:34 p.m. Monday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Lemon Creek Road, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 1:42 p.m. Monday, a man on Vintage Boulevard declined transport.

• At 2:02 p.m. Monday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Salmon Creek Lane, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 4:48 p.m. Monday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Douglas Highway, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 7:48 p.m. Monday, basic life support care was given to a man on Seward Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 9:30 p.m. Monday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Franklin Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 9:37 p.m. Monday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Franklin Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 7:26 a.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Jacobsen Drive, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 7:55 a.m. Tuesday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Franklin Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 8:51 a.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a patient on Glacier Highway, and he or she was taken to BRH.

• At 2:09 p.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a woman on 12th Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 4:33 p.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Maplesden Way, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on 12th Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Northwood Drive, and she was taken to BRH.

Fishing during closed period

• On Tuesday, Wayne E. Alex, 74, of Juneau, failed to appear for a court arraignment on the charge of operating a commercial salmon seine during a closed period on July 12. A default judgment of $300, the maximum penalty, was entered against him, Alaska Wildlife Troopers said.

This Day in Juneau History: Jan. 19, 1987

On Jan. 19, 1987, with revenues half of what they were the year before and an estimated budget deficit ranging from $700-$900 million, the 15th Alaska Legislature began working on the state’s enormous budget deficit. Everyone was present for the Legislature’s first day except for Sen. Frank Ferguson, D-Kotzebue, who resigned shortly after his election because of health problems. Taking his place was Kotzebue businessman and Native leader Willie Hensley, whom Gov. Steve Cowper appointed for the position until the 1988 elections.
