Police & Fire for Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012

Assist

• At 1:56 p.m. Tuesday, the Juneau Police Department impounded a disabled vehicle on Marine Way.

• At 9:15 a.m. and 10:22 a.m. Wednesday, JPD assisted another agency in the Juneau area.

Commercial fish during closed period

• On Wednesday, Alaska Wildlife Troopers said in a dispatch Robert D. Dickinson, 69, of Bellingham, Wash., and Wayne E. Alex, 74, of Juneau, pleaded ‘no contest’ in Juneau District Court to separate counts of operating commercial fishing gear during a closed period. Troopers say Dickinson was fined $2,000 with $1,000 suspended, and Alex was fined $3,000 with $1,500 suspended. Both were placed on probation for one year.

Drunken driving

• At 7:23 p.m. Tuesday, Charles Garland Billy, 49, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and driving while license revoked in the 10000 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 12:48 a.m. Wednesday, Cameron Sommers June, 22, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in the 4000 block of Douglas Highway.

Fire and medical

• At 4:53 a.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Franklin Street, and she was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 5:04 a.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a man on Teal Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 6:46 a.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Franklin Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a man on Alaway Avenue, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 1:59 p.m. Tuesday, Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to West Glacier Trail with an ambulance and special teams water rescue equipment.

• At 4:08 p.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a man on Hospital Drive, and he was taken from BRH to Juneau International Airport and medevaced out.

• At 6:52 p.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a man on Hospital Drive, and he was taken from BRH to JIA and medevaced out.

Service

• At 7:59 p.m. Tuesday, Dennis John Morris Jr., 36, was arrested in the 9300 block of Glacier Highway on an outstanding no bail Alaska State Troopers warrant charging two counts of third-degree assault and third- and fourth-degree drug misconduct. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
