Great Job! Must have been fun to reel that big one in!!!
Well Done!
Congratulations!!!
Not to take away from the winner
But isn't that just a little small for a "Salmon Derby" winner?
Also odd is that this derby has been held in the same area at the same time of year for 66 consecutive years and has yielded a data set that shows a steady decline in King Salmon size and rod hours required per caught fish. Yet, ADF&G continues to insist that the management practices that they are using are within the principles set forth in our constitution and represent some form of sound management practice. In reality, ADF&G is managing wild fish stocks in southeast for the sole benefit of commercial interests and considers personal use and sport caught an incidental component of the management process.
Typo?
Article says:

Wouldn't the second place winner be the one who caught the fish first?
Third Place has 23.3 pound King per T.S website
Once again
These are unofficial results, until the board meets today I believe to certify all the results and they have more than one set of eyes viewing the results and weigh tickets. Thank you for your patience, there is a lot of work that goes into every aspect of the derby.
Check GNSD's Unofficial Results for yourself
Andy's fish was 23.4
Dennis's fish was 23.3
It was not a tie for weight.
Empire reporting per usual!
