JPD ramps up drunken driving enforcement for Labor Day

The Juneau Police Department say they will be ramping up drunken driving enforcement as part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.

JPD spokeswoman Cindee Brown-Mills said in a release that JPD will be conducting additional patrols focused on looking for impaired drivers from this week until Labor Day, Sept. 3.

Impaired drivers also includes those who are impaired by medication or illegal drugs, Brown-Mills added.
Funding for the campaign was provided in part by grants distributed through the Alaska Highway Safety Office, the release states.

The ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ is sponsored by The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration.
