Police & Fire for Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2012

Assault

• At 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, a 58-year-old man reported being assaulted in the 3300 block of Vintage Boulevard. Investigation continues.

• At 4:11 p.m. Tuesday, a 19-year-old woman reported being assaulted by a 17-year-old boy in the 2600 block of Channel Drive. Investigation continues.

• At 9:12 p.m. Tuesday, the Juneau Police Department investigated a report of an assault in the 100 block of Main Street. Alcohol was involved.

Conditions violation

• At 8:47 a.m. Wednesday, Jessica Zoss, 34, was arrested in the 5500 block of Aisek Street for violating therapeutic court conditions, and she was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Drunken driving

• At 2:02 a.m. Wednesday, Jonathan Albert Mayeda, 22, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 1300 block of Egan Drive. He was taken to LCCC, and his vehicle was impounded.

Fire and medical

• At 12:21 a.m. Tuesday, Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to an EMS call on Franklin Street. Patient refused service, and units were returned to service.

• At 12:43 a.m. Tuesday, a woman was taken from Bartlett Regional Hospital to Juneau International Airport and medevaced out.

• At 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, CCFR responded to a good intent call on Shell Simmons Drive.

• At 12:42 p.m. Tuesday, CCFR responded to a cruise ship on Jacobsen Drive, and basic life support care was given to a man. He was taken to BRH.

• At 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, CCFR responded to a motor vehicle accident on Egan Drive where a man died from his injuries. JPD retained scene authority.

• At 2:08 p.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a man on Lemon Creek Road. No emergency transport requested.

• At 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, CCFR responded to an assistance call from JPD on Egan Drive.

• At 2:47 p.m. Tuesday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Shell Simmons Drive, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, CCFR responded to an assistance call from JPD on Egan Drive.

• At 4:02 p.m. Tuesday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Front Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, CCFR responded to an excessive smoke call on Ninnis Drive, and the burn was determined to be authorized and safe. Home owner allowed to continue.

• At 5:27 p.m. Tuesday, CCFR responded to a vehicle accident with no injuries on Mendenhall Loop Road. CCFR handed off scene control to JPD.

• At 5:28 p.m. Tuesday, CCFR responded to a good intent call on Vintage Boulevard. No injuries reported, nor emergency transport requested.

• At 6:49 p.m. Tuesday, a man was taken from BRH to JIA and medevaced out.

• At 8:08 p.m. Tuesday, a man was medevaced in and taken from JIA to BRH.

• At 10 p.m. Tuesday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Willoughby Avenue, and he was taken to BRH.

Fraud

• At 9:09 a.m. Wednesday, JPD investigated a report of fraud in the Juneau area.

• At 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, JPD investigated a report of fraud in the 6200 block of Alaway Avenue.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 5:27 p.m. Tuesday, a 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by a 34-year-old woman was struck by a 1996 Ford Explorer driven by an 18-year-old woman on Mendenhall Loop Road. The 18-year-old was cited for careless driving.

• At 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, a 62-year-old woman reported her parked Mercury was struck by an unknown vehicle in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway. Investigation continues.

Theft

• At 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, JPD investigated a report of shoplifting in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 3:01 p.m. Tuesday, a 40-year-old man reported the theft of two boat batteries valued at $500 and a pair of speakers $150 from his boat in the 5100 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, a 40-year-old man reported the theft of a Smith & Wesson handgun valued at $900 in the 4500 block of Chelsea Court.

• At 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, Tiara Wall, 20, was cited and released for larceny in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, Donita Johnson, 35, was cited and released for larceny in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 9:48 a.m. Wednesday, a 61-year-old reported the theft of three power saws in the 100 block of Main Street.

Vandalism

• At 6:28 p.m. Tuesday, a 32-year-old woman reported her vehicle was vandalized as she was driving down Mendenhall Loop Road in the 2800 block. Investigation continues.

• At 6:59 p.m. Tuesday, a 38-year-old man reported vandalism to a Ford pickup in the 2800 block of Mendenhall Loop Road. Investigation continues.
