Traffic delays along parade route on Aug. 24

Alaska Living History will be holding a parade next Friday in honor of Judge James Wickersham, which will cause some traffic delays downtown.

The Juneau Police Department said in a release parade participants and vehicles will assemble on Franklin Street near the Red Dog Saloon at 11:30 a.m.

The parade will begin at 11:45 a.m. and will conclude at the House of Wickersham on Seventh Street at 12:30 p.m.

Except for an approximate five minute pause on Fourth Street, the roads will remain open to vehicular traffic. Traffic delays should be expected on the parade route.

JPD will be escorting the vehicle and pedestrian parade up Franklin Street to Fourth Street. The parade will turn left onto Fourth Street where it will make a five minute stop in front of the capitol. Fourth Street between Main and Seward Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic during that time.

From Fourth, the parade will continue and turn right up Main to Seventh Street, proceeding toward Seward and ending at the House of Wickersham.
