Police calls for Monday, September 10, 2012

Drunken Driving

• At 3:16 a.m. on Sunday, 22-year-old Joseph Donald Ellison was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated on the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Dr. He was taken to LCCC and his vehicle was impounded.

Motor Vehicle Crash

• At 10:41 a.m. on Sunday, a parked 1995 Ford Taurus was struck by an unknown vehicle, causing $1,000 worth of damage to the front driver side on the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Rd.

Theft

• At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, a 24-year-old man reported a bicycle stolen from his property on the 8600 block of Duran St.

• At 3:27 p.m. on Saturday, a 27-year-old man reported his boat trailer was stolen on the 3300 block of Douglas Hwy.

• At 10:42 on Sunday, a 55-year-old woman reported the theft of cash on the 600 block of Willoughby Ave.

Traffic Stop

• At 9:47 p.m. on Saturday, 26-year-old William Jeffery Jones was arrest on a $500 warrant for failure to appear before hearing. The original charge was leaving the scene of an accident without providing information. Additionally, he was cited for driving without a license and his vehicle was impounded. He was taken to LCCC. Alcohol was involved.

• At 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, a pickup truck was impounded for safekeeping on the 10200 block of Mendenhall Loop Rd.

Vandalism

• At 12:06 p.m. on Saturday, a 22-year-old woman reported vandalism to her car window on Municipal Way.

• At 1:12 p.m. on Saturday, a 60-year-old woman reported vandalism to her vehicle in the Juneau area.

• At 6:07 a.m. on Sunday, an 80-year-old woman reported the vandalism on her ceramics room on the 800 block of Twelfth St.

This day in Juneau history: Feb. 19

On Feb. 19, 1987, Gov. Steve Cowper and the Alaska Legislature formed a budget plan for the upcoming year. The House Finance Committee passed a bill giving Gov. Cowper permission to spend the $428 million reserve fund, and representatives described meetings with Gov. Cowper “wonderful”.
