Juneau is about to get a lot more Focus — along with other makes and models in Ford Motor Company’s automobile lineup.
Stanley Ford Inc. General Manager Kevin Lauver announced plans to open a new Ford dealership in Juneau at the Chamber of Commerce lunch event today.
Lauver said the dealership plans to open a temporary location on Mallard Street in mid-October.
“We plan on building a new dealership in the next two years,” Lauver said.
Stanley Ford has a dealership in Kenai with a staff of around 20 employees. Emelia and Jose Stanley have owned the business since the fall of 2006.
Juneau’s former Ford dealership, Skinner Sales and Service, closed abruptly in late 2009. Skinner had acquired Evergreen Motors in 2007. Ford Motor Co. expressed interest at the time to return a Ford dealership to Juneau.
