Photos: Collaborative painting

Bethany Carlile, 17, a junior at Yaakoosge Daakahidi Alternative High School, works on a collaborative school art project on Thursday afternoon. Students are painting a six-panel mural that will be permanently displayed on the exterior of the school along the entrance walkway. Teaching artist Sarah Conarro led the project by working directly with classroom teachers to integrate arts into the year-long curriculum and “Hero and Talents” theme. The project was funded by two grants.
