Conditions violation

• At 5:17 p.m. Thursday, the Juneau Police Department investigated a reported violation of conditions in the 2200 block of Great Western Street.

• At 11:46 a.m. Friday, a 31-year-old man was arrested for a domestic violence protective order violation, and he was taken to LCCC.

Disturbance

• At 11:53 p.m. Thursday, JPD investigated a reported disturbance in the 9000 block of Cinema Drive. Alcohol was involved.

Fire and medical

• At 2:20 a.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Glacier Avenue, and she was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 4:17 a.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a man on Main Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 5:22 a.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a man on Main Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 9:42 a.m. Thursday, Capital City Fire & Rescue responded to a fire alarm sounded due to burnt food on Ninth Street, and no smoke or fire found.

• At 11:22 a.m. Thursday, CCFR responded to a medical alarm on Linda Avenue. Basic life support care was given to a man, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 2:34 p.m. Thursday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Salmon Creek Lane, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 3:51 p.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a man on Simpson Avenue, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 6:42 p.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Marguerite Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 11:53 p.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a man on Cinema Drive, and he was taken to BRH.

Fraud

• At 10:41 a.m. Friday, a 54-year-old man reported the fraudulent use of his debit card in the 10000 block of Bentwood Place.

Harassment

• At 10:05 a.m. Friday, JPD investigated a report of harassment.

Theft

• At 7:19 a.m. Friday, a 54-year-old man reported his medication was stolen sometime last night in the 5700 block of Concrete Way.

This Day in Juneau History: Jan. 22, 1987

On Jan. 22, 1987, Gov. Steve Cowper prepared to discuss the final part of his fiscal plan: budget cuts. The total amount suggested to be cut by his temporary cabinet was $300 million, which tore funding from a variety of different programs. However, although what propositions Cowper accepted were still a mystery, Press Secretary David Ramseur confirmed that the cuts he did accept totaled at about $200 million. Cowper was to give a speech directly to the Alaska Legislature discussing the specifics of his recommended cuts.

Man caught with 3 pounds of meth on Southeast Alaska-bound ferry sentenced to 20 months

A 21-year-old man who was caught transporting three pounds of methamphetamine — reportedly the largest seizure in Southeast Alaska in at least 10 years— on the ferry between Bellingham and Ketchikan last May was “a patsy, plan and simple,” his defense attorney argued.
