Sure

And so will the libraries and the parks and Treadwell Arena and the parking garage and...

Either Eaglecrest is subsidized, or it ceases to exist. Juneau is much better because of it.

Tax paying citizens pay for

Tax paying citizens pay for many things that they neither want nor need, though others may. Eaglecrest is one such. This is a well used public place, though expensive to run. I, for one, am very happy the city, and in general the taxpayers, have chosen to keep it going. I don't use the libraries or the vast majority of the parks and trails, but I'm happy to help provide funds for their continued existence. I also don't drive on the vast majority of the roads, use parking garages, or particularly care about Threadwell. But these are the things that make living in perpetual rain and snowfall bearable. So thank you, Juneau, for providing the varied recreation that a vibrant and cultural society demands.
