UNKNOWN if alcohol Was Involved??

At 8:41 p.m. Wednesday, a 24-year-old man reportedly assaulted a 22-year-old man in the 200 block of Front Street. Investigation continues. Unknown if alcohol was involved.

GREAT DETECTIVE WORK JPD!

I witnessed this entire fight from the Triangle across the street and both guys were f'd up beyond belief. The 22 year old, who appeared to be the more intoxicated of the two, seemed to be the aggressor and took his shirt off at two different points in time and tried to get the 24 year old to hit him. This went on for about 20 minutes, both guys in each other's face. The 24 year old (the guy with the white Hoonah basketball shirt) was clearly trying to diffuse the situation but the 22 year old (guy in black) wanted a fight. Finally, the 22 year old swung first and they both exchanged wild flailing punches (none really connecting) until the 22 year old backed up and accidentally slipped off the curb and hit his head on the street (he was clearly out cold from the fall as both his arms just went limp instantly) and the 24 year old pounced on him and pummeled him to within an inch of his life with punches and headbutts to the 22 year old's nose that went unblocked because the 22 year old was out cold from the fall (He likely would've killed him if myself and 3 other onlookers didn't run out there and break it up and call EMS). There was blood all over the street and think a few teeth. The 22 year old had a severe gash on the bridge of his nose. A couple people turned him over to keep him from drowning in his own blood and police showed up 10 minutes later. The 24 year old was put in cuffs and offered no resistance. The 22 year old, put on a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance. The JPD, in typical fashion, only wanted to hear the bartender's account and not the people who saw the entire evolution. I give props to the 24 year old for not running before the cops showed up. I could tell he felt bad as he said the other guy was his cousin. I just hope the 22 year old comes out of this OK because the beating he took was one of the worst I've ever seen.

Lori is right...

Downtown Juneau is an extremely dangerous place. What with all the creepy art galleries and granola eating hippies. I avoid the area at all costs. If necessary I'll venture down there, but never without with my high caliber pistol for protection. I blame the immoral liberals that have overrun that part of town.
